RIGID OR PRICKLY HOLLY FERN

Description

This is a great evergreen fern from Japan with rigid, glossy, leathery fronds. New fronds are a delightful shade of yellow in spring, changing to green as they mature. Young fronds give off a musky scent. This is a good fern for the smaller garden.

Polystichum rigens prefers a site enriched with compost, in full shade, but can also tolerate hot and humid summer climates.
